Welcome
Perhaps you are finding life difficult at the moment, and your feelings are overwhelming.
You may feel you need help to find your way through being 'stuck'. Life can sometimes lead to emotional difficulties or feelings of stress, which affect our day to day life, relationships or work. We may experience anxiety, low self-esteem, confusion, depression, addiction, suicidal thoughts or self-harm.

Counselling and psychological therapy offers you the opportunity to talk through your thoughts and feelings, helping you identify, explore and understand what doesn’t feel right within.
Counselling
In counselling you can talk through and explore issues in a supportive, confidential and safe space, where you can develop internal resources and alternative ways of thinking to enable you to move forward.
This can sometimes feel challenging, but it can also be inspiring and creative, exploring internalised concerns, worries and experiences.

The counselling process is determined by you; through the therapeutic relationship I facilitate the journey using integrated theories and creative resources to best meet your personal needs. When we explore relational patterns we are then working at a psychological depth with aspects which affect the internalised core self.
My approach
I am a person-centred integrative therapist, and a registered member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP). I work with warmth, compassion, and integrity, building a confidential empathic relationship, with each unique individual. Through the therapeutic relationship, clients are empowered to express their feelings and bring clarity to their experiences.
You will identify a ‘therapeutic aim’, which will help give focus to your counselling sessions. We will work together towards achieving your aim which may include understanding where unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviours come from; identifying alternative ways of thinking; developing new coping strategies; and considering different perspectives.
About me
I am from Ireland, but lived in the UK, and also with my family in Tanzania and The Netherlands. Since qualifying with my Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling & Psychotherapy I started my private practice face-to-face in the UK, and later in Amsterdam.
I am particularly interested in the neuropsychology of trauma in the body, and the impact this can have on self-confidence and identity. I have always been passionate in helping people fulfil their potential and I have over 2500 hours of private practice experience, both online and face to face with adults and young people. I utilise creative approaches, and I love to bring nature into the therapeutic space.
"Trauma is not what happens to you; trauma is what happens inside you as a result of what happens to you"
